Good point, but Mr. Buffett has publicly said that a) it will be difficult (because of his size) to significantly beat the S&P and b) he could attain MUCH higher returns with smaller amounts of money.

DougM, it is true that Buffett has said those things but look again at what was said by Ted Seides.

"Fortunately for us, we're betting against the S&P's performance, not Buffett's."

This clearly implies betting against Buffett for the duration of the bet, therefore his future performance.
